From somewhere over the Atlantic

I am about a third of the way between the East Village and Kreuzberg, Berlin. Just passed the Labradour Sea and am flying over the Atlantic near to Greenland. Very excited to see my cosmonaut wife and little jetsetter son. IMG_4498_bia.jpg Bianca inside of Alt.Coffee for the first time since the nineties.
In theory as a programmer I don't need to be anyplace in particular to do my work. Its a bold theory but here I am after midnight off the coast of Greenland sitting in the economy class Lufthansa seat I got off of priceline, ostensibly doing work. A little dell with a good battery and free in flight wireless are a lovely combination. Currently I am about a third of the way between the East Village and Kreuzberg, Berlin. Just passed the Labradour Sea and am flying over the Atlantic near to Greenland. Very excited to see my cosmonaut wife and little jetsetter son. Since I am now running the tech team at ampkeywords.com I have set out to prove my theory of unteathered development. Hopefully I will still be able to lead the little team well enough to tackle a bunch of tasks from an office in Berlin for the month of December. If I can do it, then the skys the limit for unteathered development. Evee was performing and touring a couple of festivals in Italy during Octoiber and November, as well as spending some much needed time with her familia and friends throughout Europe. And you know that kind of how Evee is meant to be, lots of friends and lots of wanderlust. Seems like Milan has been swinging right along as well. Ive only seen pictures but he seems to get right along hiking through the Swiss alps and sitting in Italian Cafes and all. He seems ridiculously cute and big like a small monkey in the last pictures but perhaps thats just an optical illusion. Evee has been visiting the public pools, riding the rails and soaking in the people. Hopefully they will both still like me when I arrive. I on the other hand have been a pretty full on New Yorker for the past few weeks. Lots of programming, lots of music, some organizing, some supporting, some activism, some interviewing roomates, some entertaining, some exploration, and very little sleep. For a while there I was hard pressed to stay down for more than two hours a night. But I'm normalizing once again closer to 4.5. Good thing, I don't want to know how long I could have kept that up. Half of the reason I've been up so late, is that I have been put in charge of making sure a bunch of developers in India get things done properly. Unfortunately experience shows time and time again that if I stay up all night with them there is a 40% chance they will get what I need them to get done done. If I just explain to them clearly and leave them to their devioces the chance are more like 10%. Ah the glories of offshoring. Anyway, its been a lot of long nights. Hopefully though, being in Berlin I will be much closer to their schedule and at least for this month I am going to try and sleep like a normal person, unless I am working on my own art. speaking of art Zemi17 is back in town. He did a beautiful performance of the Orkwestra Jangkrik at the studio. Check it out here at moodymammoth events page. Anyway, I am going to try and get some sleep before lufthansa feeds me breakfast. ciao for now.
